Dear Garrison Families:
I cannot believe that the holiday season is already here and I must apologize, that the Principal's Newsletter has not been updated for some time. I already know that my New Year's Resolution will include monthly updates to all of you! Wish me luck...as this has been difficult to find the time in and amongst all of the duties of a busy middle school principal!
This past weekend, as a principal and school leader, the events of Newtown, Connecticut weighed heavily on my mind. Life can be terribly unfair and confusing. No one deserves such heartbreak, yet it is through such tragedies that we can learn to treasure even the smallest things in life and to take time each day to tell those we love how much they mean to us. It's always difficult, perhaps even impossible, to understand why such horrible things happen to innocent people, especially at school.
As we move through the new few weeks and embrace the time we get to spend with family and friends, please take a minute or two to remember the importance of RELATIONSHIPS. It is through our relationships that we can work to show empathy, concern, support and care for one another. Thanks for all you do to build and preserve relationships here at Garrison Middle School, between families and teachers, your students and teachers and between your child and others.
I wish all of you a very blessed and restful winter break. Enjoy your time off and we wish YOU & YOURS the best in 2013!
