The Walla Walla Public Schools Board of Directors has named three finalists for the district’s superintendent position. The finalists are: Dr. Ben Gauyan, Patricia Rodriguez and Dr. Mark Wenzel.

Tuesday night representatives from Hazard, Young, Attea & Associates (HYA) provided an update on the Superintendent Search process. Also this week school board members narrowed a diverse applicant field of 28 down to six semi-finalists. Board members will interview the semi-finalists on March 24 and further narrow the field down to three finalists.

There is NO SCHOOL for all students April 7-11 for Spring Break 2025. Classes resume Monday, April 14.
On Thursday, Garrison’s 6th graders braved chilly and windy conditions to explore our local watershed.
This week, Garrison and Pioneer 8th graders visited Whitman College for a day of exploration.
On March 17 and 18, 2025, Garrison 8th graders visited Whitman College for a day of exploration. Working in small groups, students had educational sessions in the Planetarium, Sheehan Art Gallery, and with the Geology Department’s stream table. After having lunch in the Hall of Science, students took a campus tour that included Penrose Library, lakum dukum, a walk past residential halls, and the Reid Campus Center.
On Friday, March 14, Walla Walla Public Schools welcomed approximately 25 teachers, specialists, and directors from across Washington eager to learn more about dual language education.
The Cavalcade of Authors event will be held on April 19th and is open to ALL Garrison students. The bus will depart at 7:15 AM and return at 5:00 PM. Students need to complete and submit a permission slip, available in the library, by March 28th. For any questions, please contact Mrs. Eggart or Ms. Wallingford.

We're excited to announce that we have launched an after-school tutoring program for students! Tutoring sessions are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 4:45 PM. Additionally, we offer morning tutoring from 8:00 to 8:45 AM on Tuesdays and Thursdays in the library. Ms. Hernandez, our Garrison Communities in Schools Coordinator, is available to assist with any class content your child may need help with, in both English and Spanish.
