21st Century ''Millennials Program"
Overview
The Forward Program at Garrison Middle School is funded by the 21st Century Community Learning Center Grant. The 21st CCLC Grant is awarded to schools which have high percentages of minority and impoverished students, and perform below average on state standardized testing. The Forward Program at Garrison Middle School is designed to directly address school-wide academic improvement through after school tutoring and extracurricular activity learning.
Goals
"To Improve the Personal and Academic Performance of Struggling Students, particularly in the subject areas of Mathematics and Reading/Writing."
Intervention Strategies
- 20 hrs./week Additional Learning Time
- Before School and After School Tutoring
- Literacy and Mathematics Support
- Provide Academic Enrichment Activities
- Provide Access to GED, ESL, Basic Computer Literacy, and Job Skills
- Garrison Night School
- Create a Strong Partnership with Walla Walla Community
